L'Atelier is an elegant, artisanal chocolate brand crafted in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The brand focuses on the powerful, rustic aesthetic of wood and natural forms, while counterbalancing with a sleek, minimal packaging design.
All of the design work, photography, and creation of the chocolates themselves were done by myself; this project was an exploration and appreciation of my own passion for fine baking and high-quality craftsmanship.
The chocolate was produced by myself and sold to the general public during the Senior Show & Celebration at Pennsylvania College of Art and Design. The chocolates produced included two collections, each with a total of eight different flavors of enrobed and molded bonbons. In addition, the project included six different origins of artisan chocolate bars, hailing from Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Madagascar, Peru and Ghana.
Each box of chocolates was fitted with a handcrafted sleeve, unique to the profile of the chocolate collection. Number 01 featured deep, robust chocolate notes, catering to an audience who prefers notes of spices, herbs, and rich essences. Collection number 02 featured bonbons redolent with fresh, vibrant notes of citrus, berries and light floral tones.
A number of visual promotional pieces were also created, including a triptych and a large poster. Each of these were photographed on a simple wooden floor and post-processed in order to incorporate the navy-slate tones of the branding.
